by Ben Pate

It is hard to really pay attention to what you're eating when you are on the run and don't take the time to sit and enjoy a meal. And, when you go out, everything is so much bigger than it used to be, a side salad almost looks like an entree salad in some places. A few eating tips can help you achieve a healthy weight loss with just a few simple changes. If you keep reading, you can get the quick weight loss you've been looking for.

If you really want to be able to have more control over what you eat, then you need to start planning things in advance. At the end of the week start planning your meals for the following week. That way you'll have a grocery list of what you need and no last minute meals thrown together with whatever is on hand, and these meals usually end up equaling something unhealthy and fattening.

When you start to feel hunger pangs reach for a glass of water before anything else. More often than not, your body is craving water, not food. Your body dehydrates easily, and if you lack water, that sometimes can be mistaken for lack of food.

But on the other hand, don't wait till you are starving before you do eat. If you wait too long you end up binging and grabbing the first thing in sight. Make sure you snack between meals with good things like vegetables and fruits and drink plenty of water.

Portion size is important when you're trying to get fat loss, but it can be a hassle for many to get out the scales or try to figure out the correct portion size for this and that. The easiest solution is to use smaller plates, and then you are forced to use a smaller portion size that really won't look small at all. Pack the large dinner plates away or push them in the back of the cupboard so you automatically choose the smaller size first.

It is really important to pay attention to what you are eating when you are sitting down to a meal. Chew the food thoroughly and actually let taste it. Taking your time will allow you to feel fuller on less food. Also, get rid of the distractions. Turn the television off, put the book down, and stop working. The more distracted you are while you eat, the more you end up eating because you don't really taste it or aware of how much you're eating.

It is a good idea to form the habit of not cleaning your plate. Stop eating before you're full but feel you've had enough food. It normally takes the brain about twenty minutes to register that you are eating and that the food is on the way, so if after that time you are still hungry, go ahead and eat some more.

Watching what you eat and how you eat doesn't mean that you need to deprive yourself of your cravings. If you crave something sweet or want dessert after a meal, then go ahead and indulge in that; a moderate intake of sweets won't have a big effect your long-term fat burning goals. However, do it sensibly, small portions or sample size portions will satisfy the sweet tooth. By implementing these eating tips, you'll find that healthier quick weight loss is easy and you won't be starving yourself.
